We needed to remove a willow tree that had fallen in the brook and started to regrow by putting new roots in to the brook mud and growing new branches.
 

This has the effect of producing a natural dam and holding back the flow of water, especially during floods. 
 

Removal of this natural dam could make a big difference to protecting local households
